Hendrix is a tiny rural community in southeastern Oklahoma near the Texas border, accessible via US 69 from Durant about 15 miles north. The area sits in rolling ranch country where summers hit the 90s and winters bring occasional ice storms. Most visitors arrive from the Dallas area via US 75 to Sherman, then US 69 north. The community sits near historic Carpenter's Bluff, an old Red River ferry crossing.
