Helotes sits in the Texas Hill Country about 20 miles northwest of San Antonio, accessible via Loop 1604 west to Highway 16 north. San Antonio International Airport is roughly 45 minutes away via I-410 and Loop 1604. Highway 16 serves as the main corridor, connecting north to Bandera and south back to San Antonio, while Highway 211 provides an eastern approach. The town hosts the annual Cornyval festival each May, featuring corn-themed activities and live music.
