Greenup, IL

Greenup is a small farming town in east-central Illinois, just off Interstate 70 about 20 miles from Mattoon. Most visitors arrive via I-70 Exit 119, while locals use Route 121 for trips to Mattoon or Route 40 for east-west travel. The town sits among typical Illinois prairie farmland along the Embarras River. Its 1904 Carnegie Library remains a proud centerpiece of this close-knit community of 1,800 residents.
