Grapeland, TX

Grapeland is a small East Texas city of about 1,600 people, located 120 miles southeast of Dallas via I-45 south to Huntsville, then US 190 east to US 287 north. The town sits among pine forests in Houston County and serves as the county seat. US Highway 287 runs through downtown, while State Highway 19 provides east-west connections to Palestine. The city takes its name from the wild mustang grapes that once flourished in the area's forests.
