Gays, IL

Gays is a tiny farming community in central Illinois, about 20 miles from Mattoon via Route 16 and county roads. Take I-57 to Exit 190, then head northeast through flat prairie farmland. The town was named after the Gay family who settled here in the 1800s, making it one of the few places in America with this distinctive name.
