Fremont lies 35 miles northwest of Omaha along US Highway 30, the main route connecting it to Nebraska's largest city. Interstate 680 from Omaha provides the quickest access via Exit 3. The city sits in the Platte River valley with flat terrain that makes for easy year-round driving, though winter ice can affect rural roads.
