Fallon Station is a small Nevada community about 60 miles east of Reno on US Highway 50, "The Loneliest Road in America." Located near Fallon Naval Air Station in high desert country, it's a common stop for cross-country travelers and those heading to nearby Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge. The area sits where ancient Lake Lahontan once covered the valley, leaving behind distinctive fossilized tufa formations.
