Elma sits along US Highway 12 in Grays Harbor County, about 20 miles west of Interstate 5. The town serves as a gateway between the Puget Sound region and Washington's coast, with Highway 12 connecting directly to Centralia and points east. Most visitors pass through on their way to coastal destinations, though the area's rolling farmland and proximity to Olympic foothills make it a pleasant stop.
