Elk River, ID

Elk River is a tiny mountain town of about 124 people in Idaho's timber country, roughly an hour northeast of Lewiston via US-12 and Highway 11. The winding mountain roads climb through dense forests to this remote community at 3,000 feet elevation. It's home to the massive Dworshak Fish Hatchery, one of the world's largest steelhead operations.
