Egegik is a remote Alaska Peninsula fishing village of 54 people, accessible only by plane through Egegik Airport or boat during summer. Located 300 miles southwest of Anchorage with no road connections, it serves Bristol Bay's world-renowned salmon fishery. The community's massive processing plant can handle over 100,000 salmon daily during peak season.
