Dowelltown, TN

Dowelltown is a tiny DeKalb County community of about 400 people, nestled in Tennessee's rolling hills roughly 70 miles east of Nashville. Most visitors arrive via I-40 to the Cookeville exit, then take Highway 56 south through Liberty. The rural roads wind through the Caney Fork River valley where the Cumberland Plateau meets the Highland Rim. The town's claim to fame is its historic wooden covered bridge, one of the few still standing in middle Tennessee.
