Deepstep, GA

Deepstep is a tiny Washington County community of 124 people in rural central Georgia. Reach it via State Route 57, connecting to I-16 from Macon or Savannah. The area features rolling pine country typical of Georgia's Coastal Plain. Most trips are local runs to Sandersville or Tennille for services. The town gets its distinctive name from a natural spring so deep that early settlers had to step down into it to draw water.
