Cook is a small Minnesota town of 423 people on Lake Vermilion in the Iron Range. It's at the junction of Highway 1 and County Road 24, about 90 minutes from Duluth via Highway 53 and 169. The town serves as a gateway to the Boundary Waters wilderness and Superior National Forest. Lake Vermilion stretches over 40 miles and contains more than 365 islands.
