Columbus, MS

Columbus sits in northeast Mississippi as the county seat of Lowndes County, part of the Golden Triangle region with Starkville and West Point. US 82 runs east-west through downtown, connecting to Starkville 25 miles west, while Highway 45 provides north-south access to Tupelo and Meridian. Golden Triangle Regional Airport lies 12 miles north with flights to Atlanta and Dallas. The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway runs directly through the city, making Columbus one of the few Mississippi cities with deep-water port access to the Gulf of Mexico.
