This village of under 400 people sits on flat agricultural land that was once part of the Great Black Swamp. Most visitors arrive from Toledo or connect via State Route 19 from Fremont to the south. The town's claim to fame is its location in the heart of what was once Ohio's largest wetland before being drained for farming in the 1800s.
