Clatskanie, OR

Clatskanie is a small logging town along the Columbia River, about 50 miles northwest of Portland via scenic Highway 30. The route follows the river through St. Helens, while Route 47 connects south to Forest Grove. The town sits where the Clatskanie River meets the Columbia, surrounded by Coast Range foothills. Its massive paper mill, operating since 1927, dominates the skyline with towering stacks visible for miles along the river.
