Chatom, AL

Chatom is a small county seat in southwest Alabama's pine country, about 60 miles north of Mobile via US 43 and State Route 56. The town of 800 sits at the junction of several rural highways connecting timber communities between Mobile and Montgomery. State routes 17 and 56 form the main crossroads through town. The 1907 Washington County Courthouse with its red brick and white columns dominates the town square.
