Canon, GA

Canon is a small Franklin County town of about 880 people in northeast Georgia's foothills, 15 miles northeast of Commerce via Route 17. The area sits where the Piedmont meets the Appalachians, with rolling terrain and a humid subtropical climate. Most visitors arrive via Route 17 from I-85 near Commerce, or US 29 from Hartwell to the north. The town's historic Canon Mill still operates as a working gristmill, grinding corn with traditional waterwheel power.
