Byers is a tiny farming community in south-central Kansas with just 11 residents, reached by driving 15 miles northeast of Pratt on Highway 61. The area serves vast wheat operations under the wide prairie sky, and despite its small size, the community still maintains its own post office in this remote corner of Pratt County.
