Burchard is a tiny farming community in southeastern Nebraska's Pawnee County, reachable via Highway 8 from Tecumseh or Lincoln (45 miles northeast). The village sits among corn and soybean fields in the gently rolling Great Plains. Most visitors arrive from US Highway 136 to the south or Highway 75 to the east, connecting through Pawnee City 8 miles west. The community center serves as the local polling place during elections.
