Brookside, CO

Brookside is a tiny community in south-central Colorado where US Highway 50 meets State Highway 9 in the Arkansas River Valley. It's about 15 miles west of Cañon City and serves as a gateway for travelers heading north into the high country. The area sits at 5,200 feet elevation with typical high desert conditions. The town's claim to fame is being the exact junction where Highway 9 splits north from the main east-west corridor.
