Brookneal, VA

Brookneal is a small Virginia town of 1,300 people along the Staunton River in Campbell County's farming country. The main route is US 501, with Lynchburg 30 miles northeast being the closest major city. Long-distance visitors typically arrive via US 360 or State Route 40 through rural Piedmont countryside. The town's biggest draw is the Red Hill Patrick Henry National Memorial just outside town, where Virginia's famous "Give me liberty or give me death" orator spent his final years and is buried.
