Boones Mill, VA

Boones Mill is a small Virginia community along Route 220, about 25 miles southwest of Roanoke in Franklin County's rolling hills. Most visitors arrive via US 220 from Roanoke or Martinsville, with the route connecting to I-81 for longer trips. The town of 228 residents sits in scenic Blue Ridge foothills. It's named for the 1750s gristmill operated by Daniel Boone's father, Squire Boone.
