Blockton, IA

Blockton is a tiny farming community in southwestern Iowa's Taylor County, home to about 120 residents scattered among corn and soybean fields. Highway 2 runs east-west through the area, connecting to Bedford 15 miles east and continuing toward Missouri. Most trips are short runs to Bedford for supplies or longer drives to Creston or Clarinda for major shopping. The white-painted Community Center serves as both meeting hall and polling place for this close-knit agricultural community.
