Benavides is a small ranching town in South Texas, located about 70 miles southwest of Corpus Christi via US Highway 359. The main route from major cities runs through Alice on I-37, then north on State Highway 339. This community of 1,500 serves the surrounding cattle ranches and farmland typical of Duval County's semi-arid landscape.
