Bedford is a small farming town in southwestern Iowa, about 70 miles from Omaha. Take Highway 2 west from I-35 or drive north from the Missouri border on Highway 148. The town centers around its historic courthouse square and serves Taylor County's agricultural community. Bedford is the birthplace of 1936 Olympic gold medalist swimmer Glenn Hardin.
