Batavia, IA

Batavia is a small farming town in southeastern Iowa, about 15 miles from Fairfield via Highway 34. Most visitors drive Highway 34 west from Burlington or east from Ottumwa, with Des Moines about two hours northwest via Interstate 35. The town sits in flat prairie country with good visibility for driving. Batavia's historic one-room schoolhouse from 1874 still stands as a local landmark.
