Avon-by-the-Sea is a small coastal borough in Monmouth County, accessible via Garden State Parkway Exit 98 and Route 35. The town sits between the Shark River and Atlantic Ocean, connected to neighboring shore communities by Routes 35 and 71. Popular local drives include Ocean Avenue along the beachfront and Main Street through the residential area. The borough features one of New Jersey's few remaining wooden boardwalks.
