Arab is a small city of about 8,700 people in northern Alabama's Marshall County, positioned in the foothills where the Tennessee Valley meets the Appalachians. Highway 231 runs right through town, making it a 25-mile drive southwest to Huntsville or 90 miles north to Nashville. Most locals commute along this route to Huntsville's tech jobs, while Highway 69 heads east to Guntersville Lake.
