Ulcat Row perches in the eastern Lake District fells between Ullswater and Helvellyn. Reach it via the A592 from Penrith (M6 Junction 40) or through Keswick on the A66, then local fell roads. The settlement's name derives from Old Norse meaning "wolf's wood," harking back to when wolves roamed these hills.
