Yew Tree, Tameside

Yew Tree occupies elevated ground in eastern Tameside, where Greater Manchester meets the Pennine foothills. The A635 provides the main connection through the area, linking to the M67 for Peak District access and the M60 orbital via connecting routes. From Manchester city centre, it's about 10km via the A57 eastbound. The former Yew Tree pub, a Victorian landmark that gave the area its name, closed recently but its distinctive facade still marks the neighbourhood's heart.
