Most traffic comes from Maidstone or Tonbridge on daily commuter runs, though longer journeys typically use M20 Junction 4 then the A228. The village's medieval five-arch stone bridge, parts dating to the 14th century, remains one of Kent's finest examples of ancient river engineering still carrying modern traffic.
