Wingerworth is a former mining village in north Derbyshire, positioned between Chesterfield and Clay Cross. Access via the A61, with the M1 at Junction 29 nearby for longer journeys. Local routes connect to Clay Cross and Tupton through pleasant countryside. The village retains its rural character whilst serving as a residential base for exploring the Peak District. Notable for Birley Spa, a Victorian mineral spring once famous for its iron-rich waters.
