About Winburg

Winburg's a handy stop on the N1, about 116 km from Bloemfontein and roughly 381 km from the Pretoria side, so it sees plenty of long-haul traffic between Gauteng and the Cape. Founded in 1842, it's one of the Free State's oldest towns, once capital of the Republic of Winburg-Potchefstroom, with the Eeufees Museum keeping that history alive.
