The main route connects north to Eau Claire and south to Interstate 90, while Highway 121 runs east-west through downtown. Most travelers use it as a gateway to Mississippi River bluffs recreation or a stopping point between larger cities. The 1906 county courthouse with its prominent clock tower marks the city center along Highway 53.
