Wherstead

Wherstead is a small Suffolk village on the River Orwell, just south of Ipswich via the A137. Most visitors arrive from the A14 or A12 through Ipswich, though some use local routes from the Shotley Peninsula. The 14th-century St Mary's Church houses an exceptional medieval rood screen with intricate carved woodwork.
