Wheatley Hill

Wheatley Hill is a former County Durham mining village positioned between Durham city and the coast. The A181 provides the main north-south connection, with access from the A1(M) via Junction 61 and the A688. Popular local routes include the B1280 from Wingate and country roads to Station Town. The village retains its converted pithead baths building, a distinctive reminder of its coal mining past.
