3About Whale Island
Whale Island in Portsmouth Harbour houses HMS Excellent, the Royal Navy's warfare training school since 1886. Reach it via the M275 from the M27, then through Stamshaw. The island was artificially expanded using harbour dredging spoil and now displays the Royal Naval Museum's historic gun collection, including HMS Roberts' last surviving 15-inch naval gun.
