West Hanningfield is a small Essex village about 40km northeast of London, set amongst rolling farmland between Chelmsford and Wickford. Access comes via the A130 to the east, with routes from London using the M25 to A127 or the A12 to local roads. The 13th-century parish church houses remarkable medieval wall paintings, including a large St. Christopher mural that survived the Reformation.
