Van Stadensrus

Van Stadensrus is a small Free State farming town near the Lesotho border, reached mostly via local roads off the R701 from Wepener and Zastron, both easy day trips. Long-distance visitors sometimes arrive from as far as Kingsburgh or Bitterfontein, usually routing through Bloemfontein first. It's open highveld country with wide farm views, no EV chargers in town so juice up beforehand, and the town itself is named after the early Van Staden family who settled the district.
