About Ushaw Moor

Ushaw Moor is a former pit village in County Durham, just west of Durham city via the A691. The A1(M) at Junction 63 provides the main link for longer journeys, whilst local routes connect to nearby villages like Bearpark and New Brancepeth within a couple of kilometres. The village stands near the former Ushaw College, which trained Catholic priests for two centuries until 2011.
