Ubombo lekker perches on the Lebombo Mountains, giving you views over the Zululand plains and the game reserve country near Mkuze. Get there via the R22, linking up to Mkuze and Ingwavuma, with the N2 close by for the long haul from Durban or up to Mpumalanga. Mkuze, just 19 km off, is your daily run, with its own small airport. No EV chargers in town, so juice up in Richards Bay first. Fun fact: Ubombo Hospital, started by Norwegian missionaries back in 1904, is still going strong.
