Tunnel Hill, GA

Tunnel Hill is a small railroad town in northwest Georgia, about 90 miles north of Atlanta via I-75 and US Highway 41. The community of under 1,000 people sits along the historic Western and Atlantic Railroad line that connected Atlanta to Chattanooga. Visitors typically arrive via US 41, either from Dalton to the south or from Chattanooga about 25 miles north. The town's claim to fame is the Chetoogeta Mountain Tunnel, a pre-Civil War railroad tunnel carved through solid rock that still carries freight trains today.
