Trelewis occupies a central spot in the Taff Valley, easily reached via the A4054 between Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypridd. This former pit village sits amongst the characteristic terraced streets that climb the valley sides, with Cardiff just 25 kilometres south via the A470. The village retains one of Wales' few working men's clubs still operating its original 1920s snooker tables.
