About Torpoint

Torpoint perches on Cornwall's eastern edge, linked to Plymouth by the historic chain ferry across the Tamar. The A374 brings most traffic here from the A38 and Tamar Bridge, with the ferry providing the shortest route into Devon. The town offers excellent views across Plymouth Sound and serves as the main gateway between the counties. The Torpoint Ferry operates three chain-guided vessels, one of only four such systems remaining in England.
