About The Chequer

The Chequer lies just outside Wrexham in the Welsh borderlands, easily reached via the A483 from Chester or through Wrexham town centre. The A534 provides an alternative route from Nantwich and the English side. Most visitors are making local trips around Wrexham or heading to nearby villages, though the area connects well to the A55 for longer Welsh coastal journeys. The name comes from the traditional black and white timber-framed buildings characteristic of this Welsh-English border region.
