Thayne, WY

Thayne is a small farming town in Wyoming's Star Valley, about 45 miles south of Jackson via US Highway 89. The scenic drive passes through Snake River Canyon and over Salt River Pass at 6,000 feet elevation. Local trips include the 20-mile run north to Afton and 35 miles south to Montpelier, Idaho. The 1936 red brick elementary school remains a visible landmark from the highway.
