Texarkana straddles the Arkansas-Texas border along Interstate 30, about 140 miles from Little Rock and 180 miles from Dallas. The city splits between two states, with State Line Avenue marking the boundary. Major routes include I-30 east-west, US 59 north-south toward Marshall, and US 71 northwest to Fort Smith. The historic Federal Building uniquely serves both states with separate entrances on each side of the state line.
