About Strensall

Strensall lies six miles northeast of York along the A64, a former military village turned commuter settlement in the flat Vale of York. Most visitors approach via the A1237 ring road to the B1363 through Haxby, or directly from York along Strensall Road. The village retains its character despite growth, with Strensall Common offering heathland walks nearby. The distinctive 1905 red-brick water tower on the high street still dominates the skyline, originally built to supply the military barracks.
