Strata Florida

Strata Florida lies in rural Ceredigion, reached via the B4343 from the A485 Lampeter-Aberystwyth road. The settlement sits near the ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, where Wales' greatest medieval poet Dafydd ap Gwilym is reputedly buried beneath an ancient yew tree that still grows in the abbey grounds.
